I used a terrific new product, Jelly Shaman’s medicated Cranberry Pom Sauce, to medicate this easy to make glazed marijuana ham. It added sweetness, cranberry flavor, and a bit of medicine to the mix too! These products are the new medicated line from The Jelly Queens, who make award winning, small batch, artisan jams, jellies, and sauces. Now patients can get them in a medicated version!
As the sauce is not heavily dosed I added additional decarboxylated kief to the mix, but this is optional.
If you can’t get Jelly Shaman’s Cranberry Pom Sauce
If you can’t get access to the Jelly Shaman’s Cranberry Pom sauce I used in this recipe, you can make a variation of this recipe by using regular cranberry sauce mixed with 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and dissolving kief (I would use about 3 grams) into it for the glaze.
- 8 to 10 pounds ham (I used spiral sliced but you don't have to)
- 1/2 cup Jelly Shaman's Cranberry Pom Sauce see note above
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 2 grams kief decarboxylated (see note above)
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Bake ham according to package directions.
While ham bakes, prepare glaze by combining all ingredients together in a small saucepan over medium heat. (Photo shows the optional step of adding decarboxylated kief to the sauce.) Heat until kief and sugar is dissolved.
Use an immersion blender to blend glaze until pureed and smooth. Alternately transfer to a the jar of a blender and puree.
About 30 minutes before ham is fully baked, remove from oven.
If your ham is NOT spiral cut (like the one in the photos), If your ham is NOT spiral sliced, pour off fat that might have accumulated in the bottom of the pan and take a sharp knife and score the fat in a diamond shaped pattern. If your ham IS spiral cute, disregard this step and continue on.
Spread about half the glaze mixture over the ham. Return ham to oven and bake another 30 minutes, basting occasionally with accumulated glaze from the pan. Heat remaining sauce and serve along with sliced ham.
Decarboxylation & Dosing
* Be sure to decarboxylate the kief or hash first by placing it in an ovenproof dish and baking at 275 degrees F for 25 minutes. Click here to learn more about cooking with kief and hash.
