Marijuana Prisoners: About Parker Coleman and His Case
Like many people serving egregiously long sentences for marijuana, Parker Coleman is the victim of America’s conspiracy laws, where it takes no actual evidence to get a conviction, just the testimony of others who are “cooperating” in order to avoid prison time.
Parker himself was never caught with any marijuana. In the entire case, only one person got caught with 26 pounds of weed and that one person was not even on Coleman’s 21 person indictment. Out of those 21 people, Parker was only acquainted with 2 of them.
At trial, no witnesses testified they had ever bought marijuana from Coleman. There was no violence involved in this case, although the police recovered 3 licensed guns from others in the case (who had concealed weapons permits). The guns did not belong to Coleman and he even passed a DNA test (with a 99% negative result) to prove that.
Like others who take their cases to trial, as opposed to “cooperating” and testifying against others, Parker Coleman ended up with an extremely long sentence. Unless he receives clemency, he will be in his 80s by the time he is released from prison.

What meal or food do you crave most that you will want to eat when you get out?
Gumbo.
What are your favorite books or who are your favorite authors?
Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill, The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, and the entire Game of Thrones series by George R.R. Martin.
Prefer winter or summer?
I love dressing for the winter, but prefer summer.
Nocturnal or morning person?
I’m flexible, but nocturnal I suppose.
Coffee or tea?
Tea.

Basketball (OKC)

New England Patriots, LA Dodgers, and Floyd “Moneymaker” Mayweather, of course.

If you could walk out tomorrow and go anywhere – where would it be and why?
I would go to wherever my mother is because she brought me into this world and she deserves to hold her son, whom she has been supporting throughout my imprisonment.
If you could travel to any country – where would it be and why?
Dubai, one of the richest countries in the world. The scenery is amazing!
What do you most want people to understand about being incarcerated that you don’t think they understand?
I always tell people on the outside that there is no love for ghosts. Ninety-eight percent of the individuals you encounter in your life are merely associates, because if they are true friends, then you consider them your family by their actions. It is so easy to be lost and forgotten in the system by so-called friends, but true family members never forget you, whether they are blood related or not. Your family will always chase that “ghost” hoping that one day you will appear in the flesh again. There is power in thoughts and words. A system of actions, backed up by belief, always produces results. So for those who are supporting anyone incarcerated, keep believing and breathing life into the walking dead men considered ghosts. I don’t have hope, I BELIEVE, and I know the end result. Regardless of what anyone else thinks, I WILL be resurrected from this death one day. Never lose faith in your “family” behind bars. I’ve seen good guys die, literally, from a lack of having a good support system.
