I am so excited. My brand new online course, “Cannabis for the Confused: A Crash Course in Marijuana” launches next week Friday! We have been hard to work at this for months. More details coming in a series of emails this week. It’s a great overall primer for anyone new to cannabis, anyone coming back to it after a long absence, or any who needs a good understanding of the subject (like people who hope to work in the cannabis industry). Stay tuned for further news and DEEP discount offers.
This week we discuss an important topic I continually got LOTS of questions about. How to determine what your personal ideal cannabis edible dose should be. Plus I came up with some festive medicated cookies for Valentine’s Day. Read on!

There simply is NO SUCH THING as a single ideal cannabis dosage!
This fact continually frustrates budding cannabis cooks (pun intended) who want an easy answer.
We hear a lot about cannabis edibles dosages. States are imposing arbitrary dosage caps (usually 10 mgs. per serving). The media is filled will fear-mongering tales over people eating too much marijuana and going to the emergency room (not necessary, please read this article on what to do if you or someone you know ingests too much marijuana, before you involve an expensive and unnecessary emergency room visit). A majority of the emails I get are from readers who are underdosed and not feeling anything from their edibles.
The fact is, everyone’s marijuana dosage needs and tolerance ranges are different. And not just a little bit different. DRASTICALLY different. That 10 mg cap will be too much for some people. At the same time 100 mgs. will not be enough for others. Most people will be somewhere between these two extremes.
What’s important is to figure out how much YOU individually need and dose accordingly.
Lightly spiced cookies offset sweet jam filling in this cannabis infused version of the classic Linzer cookies.
I used heart shaped cookie cutters, but you can use any shapes. If you don’t have cookie cutters, try a large drinking glass to cut our large circles and a shot glass to cut out the inners circles. This recipe will make about 32 cookie sandwichs, if you keep re-rolling the center cutouts.
You can make this cookie dough ahead of time and store in the fridge or freezer until you are ready to roll out, bake and fill.

I use marijuana butter to medicate this recipe. Check out my Making Marijuana Butter tutorial for directions on how to make it.
