My quick Weed Pizza Sauce recipe goes together in under 5 minutes and takes no tools or special gadgets (assuming you have cannaoil on hand).
And as this is a traditional Italian style style pizza sauce, you do not even have to cook it at all. That's right, cooked pizza sauces seem to be an American tradition. Italians allow the sauce to cook right along with the pizza. This technique is easy, time saving, and delicious!
You can use this sauce on any pizza dough, regardless if it is homemade or store bought. You can also use it on Hot Italian style meatball sub sandwiches.
I like it best, however, on my Super Easy Weed Pan Pizza (pictured below). That recipe uses lightly infused pan pizza dough. You can, however, opt to medicate just the sauce, or just the dough for a lighter dosage.
Use Cannaoil to Make Weed Pizza Sauce
This recipe was inspired by a reader question I recently received:
How would I infuse pizza sauce with weed?
It could not be easier. Traditional pizza sauce includes olive oil as one of the ingredients. All you need to do is swap it out for cannabis infused oil in an amount that delivers a dosage you need (more on that below).
If you don't have infused olive oil and don't don't want to take the time to make, you could substitute another neutral flavor infused oil, such as avocado or grapeseed. But for best flavor try to use infused olive oil.
If you don't already know how to make it my 4 Foolproof Methods for Making Cannaoil tutorial will help you get there.
The best ingredients make the best Weed Pizza Sauce
This is a simple recipe with just a few ingredients. Likewise it's important that those few ingredients be of good quality as there is nothing for them to hide behind. This is especially true of the tomatoes as they are the star of the culinary show. Choose a good quality brand of Italian tomatoes. For the most authentic Neopolitan style Italian pizza sauce, use low acid San Marzano tomatoes.
Also, as we discussed earlier, infused olive oil will help give your cannabis pizza sauce the best flavor.
Storing Weed Pizza Sauce
You can make the pizza sauce up to 3 days in advance of using it. Just store it in the fridge.
I actually think the sauce is better made in advance as it gives the flavors time to marry. But you can use it right away if you are in a hurry.
You can also freeze the sauce for up to 4 months. I like to divide mine into single pizza portions and freeze in small containers. That way I can take out just what I need when I need it.
Dosage for Weed Pizza Sauce
This sauce recipe has about 20 mgs THC per serving IF you made your cannaoil with average potency (10% THC) cannabis and used 1/2 ounce to make 1 cup of cannaoil.
To adjust the recipe for the dosage YOU personally need (and everyone is different) and to reflect the strength of the cannabis you used to make your cannaoil, be sure to take my free online dosing class. Even better, get my $5.00 online THC calculators that do all the math for you.
