Review: Santa Cruz Shredder’s Hemp Grinders

Santa Cruz Shredder, a company known for their exceptional quality grinders, makes a unique line of hemp grinders.  No, not grinders to grind hemp, although you certainly could do that too, but rather, grinders made from hemp!

That's right, while this grinder might look plastic, it's not.  It is constructed from durable and biodegradable hemp, an all natural renewable material that can be used to make over 10,000 products (if corrupt governments would only get out of the way).

What I especially like about Santa Cruz Shredder's Hemp Grinder

  • Functions smoothly
  • Made from a sustainable, renewable material
  • Has a kief screen
  • Grinds to a perfect consistency -- not too fine, not too rough
  • Available in a variety of colors and styles
  • Easy to clean

What can be improved (and how to improve it)

I am not sure if I just have really good sticky weed or if it is the nature of the hemp grinder, but it seems to get sticky and difficult to turn quicker than my metal grinders.  However, I fixed this by cleaning it (it cleaned off very easily with some 92% alcohol), then running some of Santa Cruz Shredder's Shredder Grease over the threads.  This all natural hemp oil stick keeps all grinders (not just this one) running smoothly and prevents sticky buildup on the threads.
